I NEVER ate SPAM until I read in Art Donovan's book "Fatso" about how he hid a case of it under his bed during basic training. The sergeant found it and asked Art what he was going to do with it. "Eat it!" said Art. "Well, eat it you will!" said the Sarge (or something like that) and I believe he gave Art a deadline to finish that whole case of SPAM. My first time eating Spam and I actually thought it was good. So many uses: fry it, bake it, use it in salads, pastas, casseroles, omelets, etc. Quick to cook. It is a little on the salty side. Buying it by the case was cost effective, much cheaper than at a local store.
